YOUTH HOCKEY PROGRAMS
The Chicago Blackhawks Amateur Hockey department offers a diverse range of youth hockey programs, catering to skaters at every level of experience. Whether it's taking their first strides on the ice or refining their skills. young players have the opportunity to participate in programs such as Learn to Play, Learn to Skate (comprising of three levels: Beginner Blackhawks, Minor Hawks, and Blackhawks Rookies), and Blackhawks Youth Summer Camps. LEARN TO PLAY - LITTLE BLACKHAWKS
Developed with the help of experts from USA Hockey and Hockey Canada, the Learn to Play initiative aims to be the gold standard for youth hockey programs with the goal of inspiring more families to join the hockey community. Learn to Play changes the way youth hockey is offered by providing first time participants, between ages 4-9, head-to-toe equipment, age-appropriate instruction, and certified coaching in a safe and fun atmosphere.
*This program is offered for first-timers only. If you participated in Little Blackhawks previously or if you have an already registered USA Hockey number, you cannot enroll this year. Little Blackhawks is offered once a year*

LEARN TO SKATE - BEGINNER BLACKHAWKS
This is a Learn to Skate program for younger players who have been on the ice only a few times and are just starting to skate. Players at this level will learn skating basics such as falling down & getting back up safely, skating forwards, skating backwards, gliding, and turning. Players in this class will develop confidence on the ice.
Required Equipment: helmet, gloves, knee/shin pads, skates
Saturdays from 7:40am - 8:20am, 8:30am - 9:10am, 9:20am - 10:00am, 10:10am - 10:50am
LEARN TO SKATE - MINOR HAWKS
Players in this program must have passed Beginner Blackhawks. At this level, players will continue to develop skating fundamentals such as forward stride, stopping, and basic edge control. Sticks and pucks will be introduced at this level to teach participants how to skate with a stick and learn the basics of puck control.
Required Equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin pads, skates, and stick

LEARN TO SKATE - BLACKHAWK ROOKIES
Skaters at this level must have passed Beginner Blackhawks and Minor Hawks. This class works to prepare players for the ADM experience. Players will refine forward skating, backwards skating, stopping, and edge work. Players will also begin passing, shooting, and learning through small area games..
Required Equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin pads, skates, and stick

ADM - AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT MODEL
The ADM is USA Hockey's nationwide player-development program for youth hockey associations. It is based on age-appropriate, age-specific competition and training for boys and girls, beginning with thier first steps onto the ice and preparing them for a lifelong passion for the sport of hockey. ADM teams are offered throught the Chicago Stallions (located at Fifth Third Arena) and the Chicago Jets.
