Fifth Third Arena offers USA Hockey-sanctioned adult hockey leagues. Leagues offered are A, B, C and C2 levels, with a focus on parity among teams.  Registration will be taken as full teams only; however, rink staff will work to connect individual players with teams looking to add to their roster. All players must provide USA Hockey confirmation and register for their specific team.

The Fifth Third Arena also proudly hosts the adult D-Velopment league for beginner players - information listed below.

January 3 - May 13, with playoffs for qualified teams May 14 - 21

Winter 2020 D-Velopment League Information

This is a beginner league that will help continue to foster the amazing adult hockey community that has been established here at the rink. The league will stress friendly competition and learning for all participants.

Registrations will be accepted via full teams. Full team registration fee is $4,800.

Adult Beginner Hockey Classes

Fifth Third Arena offers a one of a kind adult beginner hockey class.  This program is ideal for players that are new to the ice and want to learn to skate and play the game of hockey. Players at this level will learn skating skills and the basics of the game of hockey. The class is designed to build player confidence in all aspects of the game and teach sound fundamentals in a friendly environment.  Take advantage of the Fifth Third Arena Bar to socialize and talk hockey with other beginner hockey players.  Open to all genders and skill levels.  Equipment required:  stick, helmet, skates, gloves, shin pads, and elbow pads.  Hockey pants and shoulder pads are recommended but not mandatory. 

USA Hockey Equipment Grant & Refer a Friend Program

The Fifth Third Arena was recently given an equipment grant from USA Hockey to benefit our Adult Beginner Hockey program. This generous grant has given us multiple sets of equipment (elbow pads, shin guards, gloves, stick, helmet, equipment bag, and jersey) that we are now looking to distribute to individuals interested in registering for the Adult Beginner Hockey program, but are in need of equipment.

Current participants can refer a friend to receive $15 off their next adult hockey program registration!

Applicants must be new to the Fifth Third Arena's adult beginner hockey program and have not taken any programs previously.

Applicants if chosen must supply equipment of their own that is not listed above (skates, hockey pants, etc).

Applicants must register for an Adult Beginner Hockey Program in order to receive the equipment.

Adult Intermediate Hockey Classes

This program is designed for players that have already participated in the Adult Beginner Program and players that are already comfortable on their skates. Players at this level will continue to work on their skating and stick skills. Game positioning will be introduced. The goal for this program is to get participants ready to move into beginner league play. Equipment required: stick, helmet, skates, gloves, shin pads, elbow pads, hockey pants. Recommended equipment: shoulder pads.

 

Adult Beginner/Intermediate Hockey Off Ice Skills

The adult beginner hockey skills class is an off ice program that will work on growing participants stick handling and shooting. Our adult hockey coaches will guide participants through various drills that will help develop skills while reinforcing sound fundamentals.

Adult Beginner Instructional Rat Hockey

This is a special rat hockey for beginner adult hockey players who want to play more but still want coaching.  A hockey coach will be present on the ice and running a controlled scrimmage for anyone who attends.
